The Manaslu Circuit

NEPAL, ASIA

ONE OF NEPAL'S FINEST TREKS

MANASLU CIRCUIT

ABOUT THE TRIP

Our epic adventure kicks off in the vibrant, bustling heart of Kathmandu, where ancient temples and lively markets set the stage for what’s to come. From there, we’ll journey by private bus deep into the wild Himalaya, to the very start of our trail along a legendary ancient salt-trading route.

Prepare to be mesmerized as we trek alongside the thunderous rapids of the Bhuri Gandhaki River, winding through lush forests of towering pine, delicate bamboo, and vibrant rhododendron in full bloom. Along the way, we’ll step into the rich culture of the region—visiting remote monasteries and meeting welcoming locals in this incredible, diverse mountain landscape.

We’ll climb far higher than any peak in the UK, pushing our limits while soaking in jaw-dropping vistas you couldn’t dream up—including the majestic Manaslu, the revered ‘Mountain of Spirit’, standing proudly among a sea of Himalayan giants.

Over 13 unforgettable days, this remote trek will challenge and inspire you, creating memories that will last a lifetime. And when we return to Kathmandu, you’ll have time to wander the bustling markets, grab some unique souvenirs, or simply rest those tired feet.

Our adventure culminates in a celebratory feast, raising a toast to an extraordinary journey—one you’ll be talking about for years to come.

TRIP SPECIFIC FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

General FAQs about our trips, booking, fitness etc can be found here

Why the Manaslu Circuit?

The Manaslu circuit is without a doubt one of the best trekking circuits on offer in Nepal. Although not new, it is one of the newer circuits and as such is less developed (and commercial) than some of the popular trade names such as Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit. Each and every day provides some fantastic views, plus you get the opportunity to test yourself at over 5000m, but not for too long, making the trek a little less arduous than some.

How fit do I really need to be and what skills do I require?

The fitter you are the more you will enjoy it, and the more chance you'll have of getting to base camp. Being able to complete 2-3 days of big hill walks in the UK is a good gauge that you're ready.

How can we help you get fit?

  • Matt is a qualified Personal Trainer so if you want some formal training just get in touch with us via Summit Push Fitness

  • Come and join some of our walks in the Lake District through Lakeland Mountain Guides

  • Ask us for our FREE 12 week training plan

What Technical Kit do I require?

There is no technical kit required for this trip. All you need is a good sleeping bag but this can also be hired in Nepal.

The full kit list for this trip can be viewed here

What about the Food and Accommodation?

The food in Nepal is fab. Expect a lot of rice, noodles and vegetables, but you can often get pasta, chips and spring rolls too. If you have specific allergies or dietary requirements it may be worth researching what's on offer before committing. Eating well throughout is key to success on such an expedition. Our accommodation whilst on the trek will be teahouses.

Should you need to leave the expedition early, any additional accommodation costs will need to be covered by you (or depending on the circumstance, your insurance)

Do I need any vaccinations?

Possibly! Vaccinations can be costly too and should be taken into consideration when budgeting for your trip. The best thing to do is to approach your Travel Nurse for information.

What is a non-Emergency Helicopter Flight mentioned in the Exclusions?

This expedition relies on an internal plane flight to start the trek, and to return back to Kathmandu. Delays can occur, and in order to make progress onto the trek, or in order to get you back to your international flight, we can consider the use of a helicopter (if the weather permits). This cost is not covered by LMG Treks & Expeditions, and you could expect to pay anywhere between £300-£600 per flight depending on the group size.
