Let's Talk about Merino

Let's talk about Merino Wool! It's so good, it's:

  • Moisture-wicking: Merino wool draws sweat away from the skin, keeping you dry and comfortable.

  • Odour-resistant: Merino wool absorbs odour-causing bacteria, so it doesn't need to be washed as often as synthetic fabrics.

  • Insulating: Merino wool's structure traps insulation in the fiber, keeping you warm.

  • Temperature-regulating: Merino wool is a breathable, all-season fiber that can regulate temperature.

  • Soft and gentle: Merino wool is soft and silky, making it gentle on the skin and reducing the risk of skin allergies.

  • Durable: Merino wool is more than six times more durable than cotton or polyester.

  • Easy to care for: Merino wool can be freshened up by airing it out overnight, and some merino clothing is machine-washable.

If you're off on an expedition or trek, then you really should consider investing in some Merino garments! I never head on expedition without it, and on my recent trip to Manaslu I used Merino T-shirts, socks, boxers, jumpers and hats! All this gear was from Cumbria based EDZ who I've been trusting for over a decade. I really can't recommend their gear enough, but don't just take my word for it, get some and try it out for yourself.
